This is my first GPS other than my cell phone so I don't have much to compare it to. I did have to test the shockproof and water proof claims though. It survived being thrown out the car at 50mph, and it sat in the sink full of water pushed down by a pot for about 20 min. So all in all I was pretty impressed and for a beginer, its cheap and has all the function I wanted.

Always gets me within 5ft of where I want to be, on land or sea!

Good basic unit that has never let me down. Does everything I ask of it, if you want bells & whistles look elsewhere.

this is a simple, rugged entry level GPS It is easy to use, and as an entry level, it's a 5 star. Entering cache positions before you go out is easy, and it allows you to enter comments about each position you save.
