With a rechargable battery, compact size, SD card for unlimited storage, an icon showing the location of the sun and moon and the ability to pick up satalite reception almost anywhere this is an ideal GPSr for my use.

Very easy to use and cache friendly

My eXplorist 400 has proven a reliable companion over the past four years. It has survived being run over by a car and being submerged in a creek. The geocaching POIs make it easy to keep track of which caches I am doing on a particular day as well as when I find them. Only basic cache data is provided in these POIs, hence I also use a Palm and Cachemate. File management is user-friendly, allowing the user to have multiple POI files that can be transferred between the PC and the GPSr by simply copying and pasting in Windows Explorer. Accuracy has proven sufficient. Charging the Li-ion battery is no different or troublesome than charging a cell phone. I do wish I had purchased the color screen eXplorist 500 instead.

I really like this unit.I have had no problems and it has great reception, even in heavy cover. I highly recommend this gpsr. Oh yeah, it has geocaching software built in. The backlight has two intensity levels although I have never needed the backlight during daylight hours. The only fault I have is that the resolution only scales down to 100 feet per half inch on the pointer screen. When I get closer than 100 feet to a cache, I just change to the Nav screen and keep an eye on the "distance to" meter. So far this has gotten me to within 2 or 3 feet of caches with accurate coordinates. Again, I highly recommend this gpsr.
