I think this is a really solid unit, it has so many features that just add to the fun of the game. So after some use I have only a couple complaints, the unit takes a bit long to get signal when turning on and of course no built in wifi, other then that I like the unit. Magellan has added a upgrade last month to the 610 so it does now track you while in suspend mode. I use rechargeable batteries so no issue there and if you dim the back light it does last quite awhile. Thanks Magellan!!!!

Unit quit working after 362 days while on a 5500 mile road trip. The unit warranty expired @ 365. Magellan replaced the unit but it only has a 90 day warranty on the refurbished unit. If the replacement unit ever goes bad that will be it for Magellan products.

I have only just got this device after reading many great reviews, only issue found so far it loves eating batteries, have only been out with it once. Will update this once I have had a few trips with it. 16/04/2013: update, a few trips out now and can say that although the battery life isn't as long as my explorist GC it isn't too much of a problem. I am using rechargeable 2650mah batteries which I recommend for this device and I am get in excess of 8hrs use. Which is a days walking can't ask for more than that. Still 4.5 Stars. Will update again if anything changes.
