Custom maps are unrivalled and SiRFStar III is so much more accurate than any Garmin receiver since the original Garmin CSx (before they swapped it out for a cheaper chipset without telling anyone). Proper sat nav with turn-by-turn voice commands and unlike other's, it actually works. Barometric altimeter is totally useless.
Works better as a hiking GPSr as caching icons are far too small and very difficult to spot.
Magellan's PC app (VantagePoint) is almost brilliant, but like the device there are too many bugs (and missing functionality) that need fixing.
This could so easily be a 5 star device, but there are lots of niggling issues that Magellan don't seem interested in fixing. To be honest it's a 3 star device, but I have given 4 stars to keep in line with the over inflated scores of the likes of the Oregon.
