This is my first outdoor GPS unit other than a car GPS so I can't fully put this unit up against another model. So far so good though. When I first powered this unit up at my location it was way off/hardly could get a fix. But I remembered reading in the forums about downloading the new firmware should fix the problem. I upgraded the firmware and low and behold I got full bars even when minutes ago the unit was struggling with the old firmware. Anyways, this unit is pretty fancy; a lot of bells and whistles. The quickstart manual that was provided told me nothing on how to really work it. I went online and downloaded the manual from the Magellan site. I must say this is probably the first time I ever read the product manual for something; I'm a noob to all this. Guess I should've gotten a beginner model but I went all out on my purchase. The screen was actually pretty decent out in the sun; I can make out what was on the screen so I can't complain. I like it.
