Magellan finally is getting it right. First, Customer Service is exactly that--very good, knowledgeable people. Much better than before. The unit is very accurate; the maps are good; the paperless caching abilities are very nice. I'm very happy with the unit. The documentation is on the light side, but it is pretty easy to figure out. And there is always a helpful tech waiting to assist you. I purchased mine through Magellan's customer loyalty program. I sent in an old, worn out Magellan GPS and got this one for $219.00. A very nice price.

As stated in other reviews, I find this unit excellent. Magellan doesn't have a docking station for it yet (be out in 2011) but my phone a/c and car power cords works great on it to save battery power. It indicates in the upper left corner that outside power is active. (They don't have this documented). They also have a program where I traded in my old Meridan Gold and save about $200 on the 710.

I got my new 710 in the mail today. When I powered it up for the first time it asked my language preference; however, the touch screen was not responsive. I turned it off and turned it on again and had the same problem. I called Magellan and they walked me through updating the firmware and then after 30 minutes of troubleshooting and still having the same problem they admitted it's a known problem. I'm mailing it back and they are going to mail me another one. I'll update my review when I actually get to use it but for now I'd recommend not buying this unit.
