Own and have owned and operated many GPS units. This one is "Good to Go", and in my favorite color .. OD Green :) On a more serious note, waterproof, pre-loaded TOPO, rugged and long battery life, many extra features and reasonably priced. My opinion, I would take it over regular issue any day.

Great GPS receiver, being a Land Surveyor, I like the ability to customize the User Grid to whatever datum projection that I need to help me get to approximate positions for looking for property corners, boundary line evidence, USGS Monuments, etc... Sure beats pacing. Only difficulty I have is uploading and downloading to a Vista operating system via USB.
