At South Shore Park, in The Woodlands
On old time marine charts, they would record what they knew, and on
the edges of the known world, they would write "beyond here, lay
dragons".
In this cache's case, it is true, just beyond the island park
lay a dragon. Nice little public park, a pavilion with some benches
to sit and eat lunch at, feed the ducks with the crumbs you don't
eat. Bring a fishing pole and catch some fish. It is along a
network of bicycle paths, so you can ride to or from many locations
including other caches just a mile or so away.
The cache container is an M&M tube 3.5" long and 1"
diameter, contains a rolled up log and shortypen. Please make sure
to replace it exactly where found. Thanks.

January 23 by mike8888 (24 found) Most excellent day to be on the water. Kayak trip with buddy Mike. Of course I didn't have a pen to log the visit.

December 12, 2009 by aaronbarbee (268 found) My whole goal for the day was to do this 5/5. I loaded up my Garmin Venture HC enture with as many caches as I could for the area to make a day of it.I did this one first because I wanted to make sure it got done. Knowing nothing about The Woodlands, I had my wife look up the kayak rental place (didn't even know the name) and I called them up asking how to get to them. After finding out I was on the wrong side of the park, I drove a few minutes to the other side and was in my kayak. Paddling sure was hard getting there, but much easier getting back. So... there's a hard-in, easy-out for the water too, huh? Met Mr. Serpent and chased him away (see pictures). But not before getting my hands on the cache! So... 1 hour round-trip by kayak. Not bad, but if I had my swimsuit I most likely would have jumped in right at the sidewalk and swam there. TFTC! SL

November 14, 2009 by Manofsteel73 (3720 found) I was with a group that rented kayaks for the day. We stopped at the park and I made a quick grab on this cache. SL. TFTC.

October 8, 2009 by sugarchap78 (209 found) My brother, Piratescache, and I had been wanting to do this one for a while. We rented Kayak's today and decided to do 3 of the Lake Woodlands caches for my 200th. It took us almost a full 3 hours because the wind was blowing against us almost the whole time and no matter what direction we went. Oh well! It was sooo much fun! TFTC SL

September 7, 2009 by Specialis Revelio (1277 found) We showed up at this one and Lumos had a field day chasing the ducks through the grounds and the water. He did have troubles getting himself out of the water due to the height of the wall around it. Then I had a newbie with me on this one. [Caution to the wise: the water isn't really that deep near the wall. I jumped in and was shocked and banged up my foot. We entered on the circle area part.] He enjoyed this one and so did I! TFTC!
