LeSueur County
Poker Run
How many of you remember the Poker Runs of
years gone by? Most
required stops at local drinking establishments. While I am not against that type
of activity, I thought it would be fun to make a geocache into a
Poker Run. Although I
am not requiring any stops at drinking establishments, I certainly
would suggest that you visit some of the fine examples right here
in LeSueur County while completing this cache or as a celebration
when you find the final cache.
At the above listed coordinates, you should
find a camo painted one gallon plastic jug with at least 20 small
map of LeSueur County on one side. The other side of the sheet
contains the list of basic rules (also listed below), the
coordinates and general areas for the 7 multi-virtual-caches (all
in LeSueur County, Minnesota and all are virtual) as well as a
description of what you are looking for and an answer sheet for you
to fill out as you play.
Technically, you don't have to visit all 7 of
the multi-caches to get the answer to the final coordinates but I
encourage you to do so as it helps you double check you answers
(each of your 10 answers will be found twice if you visit all 7)
and give you a chance to see more of LeSueur County and a chance at
a better poker hand. Once you visit at least 5 of the
multi-caches (or all 7 if you so choose), you will have the answers
to the final coordinates and there you will find a camo painted
coffee can filled with not only goodies and Travel Bugs and such,
you will also find a deck of card to deal yourself and any others
with you a Stud Poker hand. Shuffle the cards good and deal
yourself as many cards as multi-caches you
visited. With
those cards take the best 5 card poker hand you can
make. Post your
results in the log as well as this web site.
I will post the
current winning hand as well as the cacher who had that hand
on this web site.
So that and a buck will get you a cup of coffee.
If you have any questions about this cache,
please feel free to contact me through my profile above.
After I placed the cache, I dealt myself 7
cards to start out the game.
C=Clubs, D=Diamonds, S=Spades & H=Hearts
Current winning hand: AD
AH AS 9C 10S = Three of a Kind
Current winning cacher: Ramsey63
Rules for Poker Run
Cache
- You must visit at least 5 of the 7 Multi-cache
sites to play (technically you can get the final coordinates at
only 4 but you still must visit at least 5 sites)
- Use the map to get a general idea of multi-cache
locations. All are
in LeSueur
County
- Shuffle the cards good. If you visit more than 5
multi-caches you can deal yourself more cards. For example, if you visit all 7
deal yourself 7 cards and play the 5 best. Play your 5 best cards to
make the best poker hand
- Standard poker rules apply, No wild
cards
- List your best hand in the log as well as the
web site
I gotta thank
Bobcatw98for the help with setting this up. Without his proofreading and
testing this would have been a mess. Thanks Bobcat!!
