Oldskool Multi-cache

Valkeisten vanha koulu (rakennettu 1898/1908) toimi Valkeisten kansakouluna 70 vuotta. Koulutoimen siellä loputtua (1968) Vieremän kunta möi kiinteistön, jolloin kaunis koulutalo joutui lopulta lautatarhaksi ja lähes rappiolle. 1990-luvun alusta sen rakennuksia on kuitenkin kunnostettu yksityisvaroin. Valkeisten vanha koulu sijaitsee runkotien 88 (Ouluntie) varrella, 15 kilometriä Iisalmesta aivan Vieremän kunnan rajalla.

The old schoolhouse of Valkeinen (built in 1898/1908) served as the communal village school ("folk school") of Valkeiskylä for 70 years. When the school was closed down (1968), the municipality of Vieremä sold off the whole property. In private ownership the place was eventually turned into a lumberyard, and the beautiful schoolhouse swiftly fell into decay. Since the beginning of the 1990's, however, the present owner has been restoring the buildings. The Old Schoolhouse of Valkeinen is situated on Route 88 (Ouluntie), about 15 kilometers from Iisalmi (at the very border of Vieremä).

The coordinates given will take you to the school yard, where the property owner has given parking permission for considerate Geocachers. Locate the house number on a sign on the wall of the house, and use this number X to calculate the final cache location coordinates: N63°40.[X-974]', E027°03.[X-424]'
