This cache was made for young people. It has toys and trinkets. My goal was to make a relatively easy cache for adults to take young people on.

Har, Har Mate. In the days of old, pirates were everywhere. Who's to say they weren't right here? When captured they had one more trick up their dirty, greasy sleeve. They'd try to strike a deal with their captor. They might say, "Ifn' ye set me free I'll tell ye where me treasure be buried." You bein' keen of ear hear the following: "Ye beach yer land boat at the head of the Mosquito Cove trail at the end of the road by Starrigavin Bay Campground. The hike is along a well groomed path except when you leave the trail and strike out into the dark woods about twenty fathoms. The cache is in a four inch by eighteen-inch piece of black sewer pipe. There is no dog there but remove the bark to see your treasure.

He continues in a whispering, raspy voice, "Thar be treasure galore in there Mate from around the Horn and across the seven seas."

Stumps can hide
many things,
diamonds and
golden rings.
It's there I would gaze
and be rich for many days."

"Remember -always check the wind before ye spit."

[This was our first geocache! It was a great hike for our family who recently moved here. Once we got to the location, it took about 45 minutes to actually find it.] Vg jnf pbzcyrgryl vaivfvoyr naq jnf bayl ybpngrq jura zbivat fbzr onex gung jnf cynprq pbzcyrgryl bire vg'f uvqvat fcbg. [Our kids loved checking out the the different treasures. We decided to take a native crest pin for our loot and replaced it with a metallic fishing ornament. We can't wait to tackle the rest of them here and add some new caches as well. TFTC!!!!] (decrypt)

it was more like i stumbled on to this one, rather then found it, when i was trying to orient myself with the poor gps reception here. i was trying to get a general point to start from for my search so i am tromping around the general area and i look down and there it was right in front of me. was waiting for the ferry to head back to juneau on a wet morning. took stripes tb. left baggage GC and motogirl GC. SL. good hide.

"Found" while helping perform maintenance today. Can't wait to see some more successes on this one!

vvv The below message has a typo. It's supposed to read "the CACHE had apparently wandered off," not "the RIVER had apparently wandered off." We fixed two caches that day, and the other one was near a river. Just didn't want people to read that message and think that this cache was supposed to be near a river or anything. It's definitely not! :D We'd change the log but for whatever reason, it complains when trying to change the log message on an entry with a waypoint.

** Coordinates Changed From **
N 57° 08.519 W 135° 22.553
Distance From Old: 61.2 feet
Performed some much-needed cache maintenance. The river had apparently wandered off at some point, so we replaced the cache with a new container not far from where it originally was. Seeded with a good number of goodies as well. The new container is an 18" segment of black 4" sewer pipe. Have fun!
