UPDATE 03/07/2005
The Friday Night Box will not die! Kevin and I went and checked on this cache on Sunday. The grass had grown over it a bit, but it was indeed still there. We cleared the grass away so it should be easier to find now.
Since I know the disappointment of not finding a cache after hunting and hunting, I've added a few helpful pictures to 'point' you in the right direction. Hope this will avoid run in with snakes.
Update 01/16/2005
I visited this cache again for the first time since I placed it almost 3 years ago. I'm humbled to say that it took me quite awhile to find it. The coordinates are correct, however, it has been moved since we placed it (and a good thing too or else it would be so far buried in the grass no one but the snakes would be able to find it).
I went ahead a replaced the old cache with a brand spanking new one. It's a tad smaller but at least it's dry. This is no longer a nighttime cache as I didn't use the reflective tape again. It is however camo-ed. Although it is a bit off the main path, there still shouldn't be need to bushwhack. There's a bunch of tiny trails...you just need to find the one that leads directly to it.
We parked in the neighborhoods off of Placentia Ave. and walked in about .50 miles on the path. We're calling it the Friday Night Box, as that's the time and day of the week we hid it on.
