The above coordinates will take you to the apartment complex. The cache is located on the third floor (handicapped persons who can walk up three flights of stairs should have no problem with finding this). Between apartments #9 and #11 is a little door for a garbage drop. Open that door to find the travel bugs. And visit me in apartment #9 while you're at it too :) If you can't find the bugs, just knock on my door and I'll show you where they are!
This cache is a 24/7, any kind of weather, type of cache. Visit at 3 in the morning and no one cares! You may need to use a little stealth, but you should have no problem. I also don't need to be there for you to visit the cache. It is located outside my door and visiting me is not required at all. Just have fun finding this unusual travel bug hotel! :)
Travel bugs will not stay long in this hotel because their goal is to travel! Please take the bug that has been there the longest because the owners want the bug to keep going. I will take bugs out of the hotel myself if they have been in there too long! This is not a prison, just a reststop!
The I-75 Southbound Travel Bug Hotel in Florida has inspired me to do a travel bug hotel in Mount Pleasant. It has a nice, central locations next to US 27 and M-20, so it can easily take travel bugs in all directions. I was looking for a good, safe place to make a travel bug hotel, I suddenly realized that a bug hotel can be very safe if it located right next to my door! There is no real cache, just a little door to open and you'll find the bugs.
(Rules are taken from the I-75 South-Bound Travel Bug Hotel)
Travel Bug Hotel Rules (TB-101):
* You can log this cache as a find even if you have no travel bugs, but please don't take any travel bugs!
* Do NOT take a Travel Bug if you don’t have one to exchange. Drop offs without an exchange are permitted. A TB Hotel with no guests really stinks.
* Do NOT take a Travel Bug if you are not prepared to help it on its stated journey. For example, if a Travel Bug wants to visit the Florida Keys, don’t grab it and take it to your Family Reunion in Canada.
* Please do NOT take all the Travel Bugs in the Hotel. Let somebody else share in some of the fun. You can take the number of bugs that you check in, meaning if you check in two travel bugs, you can only take two travel bugs.
* Please, please, please, be sure to follow the guidelines on the tracking of Travel Bugs. Refer to (visit link) for more information.
* Be sure to log your “found” Travel Bug as promptly as possible (Vacations do make this part tough). Sometimes a TB is grabbed from Cache #1, placed in Cache #2, only to be grabbed from Cache #2, and placed/logged again before the Cache #1 has been properly logged. This really hoses up the tracking.
* If a TB owner has a unique goal or requests for photos, please DO be an active participant. Have some fun with it.
* If you “check-in” a TB at the hotel, DO be sure to write the current goal of the TB in the logbook on the door for others to see. If you can, include it along with the TB (via an attached tag or note).
You can contact me if you have special conditions if you have to break one of the rules!
If travel bugs are too big to fit in the cache upstairs, downstairs in the laundry room is a bunch of big storage areas. I use my storage area for HUGE travel bugs.
Storage #2 is the one used for TB's!
