In keeping with our plan to vary the locations, this one is inside I-285. In addition, in keeping with the winter weather, this one is just inside, ie indoors. We will be meeting in the training room of a major sporting goods retailer.
This is a family-oriented event for everyone interested in geocaching in the State of Georgia. Visitors are welcome.
Agenda
*Meeting starts at 2:00 PM sharp, with a (very brief) business session, and ends around 4:00 PM.
Jim McKenna, a certified Leave No Trace (LNT) instructor, will present information on using natural areas without causing them to be impacted by our use. Jim will cover topics of interest to both the novice geocacher and the experienced outdoor enthusiasts.
Also, in this day of heightened security, it is very important that we clearly mark our cache containers. There have been stories in the news about police bomb squads blowing up cache containers in other parts of the country. One easy way to do this is with a stencil and a can of spray paint. This segment, led by Lewis Moseley, will demonstrate several methods of making stencils on your PC.
The remaining time will be used for an open discussion of topics raised by those in attendance.
NOTE ON TIME CHANGE: We are on our WINTER SCHEDULE, and the the meeting time is 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
