Johnny Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

The inspiration for this cache came from a love of the “Man in Black”, and a desire for Team Biggeeks to give some caches back to the main area where we find all of ours, the Central Coast!

This is pretty much a traditional cache, but we decided to make it a little interesting by having the titles of some of Johnny Cash’s biggest hits guide you to the find. You're searching for an ammo can. Some poison oak started coming up near the cache this spring, so we had to do the whole thing "All over again"!

You can find close parking at N 36º39.748 E 121º46.284. There is a sidewalk that will take you to your starting point.

Starting at N 36º39.672 E 121º46.373, “Walk the Line”(fenceline) to the North until you come upon the 16th fence post. At this point the path will fork, and it's split by a pine tree that is “Five Feet High and Rising”. See the path to the right? Well, "There You Go"!

Keep on walkin' (the path) until you find a "Ring of [T]ire". The cache is hidden on the opposite side of the path of the tire. When I placed this cache “I hung my head”, so look low.

We hid this cache well under some usual chapparel camoflage. Just remove it “One Piece at a Time”, and you should find this cache in no time at all.

As with all Ft. Ord caches be mindful of P.O. and ticks.
