Kattisa was originally a resting place for horse-drivers who delivered timber and logs from Enebakk to Christiania (Oslo) around 1700-1800 century. Later on it was a small farming place which also served food and drink to travellers. The house was destroyed in 1916 when Nøklevann became drinking water reserve. The name Kattisa is from an old Finnish fishing tool used here: Kattise.
Kattisa is today a popular resting place for families and all people while skiing and walking around Nøklevann. It has a public fire place, which is much used for barbequing during summer. You can swim, fish or rent a canoo to explore Nøklevann, while you look over to Hysse#1 Danskeodden. During winter it is a popular access point from the ski-tracks for those who wants to cross Nøklevann.
More info can be found here (in Norwegian): Kattisa - husmannsplass og hvilestue.
