CurmudgeonlyGal: I adopted this cache from fooshfoosh last year after finding it myself.
The area here is one of my absolute favorites. The ocean crashes onto the shore on a stormy day. It gently receeds as the sun goes down and the tide is heading out.
The long walk on a windy, overcast day can be daunting. The beautiful views of Mt. Rainier, and the Olympics on a cold, crisp December afternoon are beyond compare. From the sea to the mountains - dramatic.
My kids and I have walked out here to see the pelicans. We've watched the sea lions. Our binoculars always at the ready.
We've picked up water smoothed bits of wood and always go home with our pockets full of shells.
Friends and I have walked out here to do nothing more than enjoy the day. Calm. Serene.
It's a beautiful spot.
There are only so many things we can control with our cache placement... We hope everything holds together long enough for everyone the enjoy the fruits of our labors. In this case, it was fooshfoosh who found the spot, and in an effort to keep the cache going, I replaced the old container.
Late last year, mother nature saw fit to change the landscape at the end of Damon Point, and the new container disappeared. I'm sure it's still there, actually... if you want to dig.
There's a new cache here now.
Come find it.
