Geocache Description:

Take the Sand Roads deep into the Pine Barrens to visit the ruins of Hampton Furnace, and find the hidden treasures left behind. 3 mile drive down hard packed sand road. Bumpy, but ok to travel with a car, or take a healty hike.

Hampton Road is just north of the Atsion Ranger station at the end of the guard rail. (no signs) Go slow down this long road into the heart of the pines, and feel yourself go back in time. At 3.1 miles, a large open area on the left appears. (You may park here on the left and walk the last little bit if desired. Look around and find some ruins under the grass.)

Continue on the road along side the open field. The road turns right and crosses a little wooden bridge. Shortly, look for the large ruins of Hampton Furnace on the right. Examine the ruins and then find the treasure, behind an old fallen tree stump.
