Geocache Description:

This geocache lies near Wayland's border with Framingham and Natick - minutes away from the Natick Mall. It's a short walk to a high point with a nice view of Lake Cochituate. Unfortunately, because of its proximity to the Pike, it may be one of the noisiest woodland caches you'll ever find. Trails are bikeable. Dogs are welcome.

PARKING
You can risk parking at the turnout at the trailhead; there are "No Parking" signs along Route 30. I'm not sure if it's legal but several finders have done it. Parking is available at the Cochituate State Park lot near the boat ramp on the south side of Route 30. From here, it's about one mile roundtrip to the cache. If this lot is full on summer weekends, you can try parking at the hand launch boat area on the north side of Route 30 right next to the entrance to Lakeview Cemetery.

TRAIL
Walk down Route 30 to the vehicle access road on the east end of the Pike overpass. There is a turnout in the road, a brown metal gate and a small "Snake Brook Trail" sign. From here, the 1/4 mile walk to the cache is equal parts paved road, dirt road, and trail. The trail continues and loops around Lake Cochituate past two dams. There are additional access points on the north side of the lake (on Old Connecticut Path just downhill/north from the Nissan service center) and east.

CACHE
***CAUTION***
In case your GPSr is off the mark, the cache is NOT hidden down near the lakeshore. The slope at the point is pretty steep and loose pine needles or snow could make it hazardous.

The bench where many finders sit while logging their find is a memorial to Judy Larocque, who was a passenger on Flight 11 on September 11, 2001.
