Geocache Description:

This is the "I just didn't get enough at the last event cache" event cache!

Before I start in with my usual cache description verbosity, I must again bow down to IceCreamMan and Dave&Michelle for the fine event in February. You may ask why I feel the need to do that? The plain truth of the matter is their event rocked! It was great! It was well planned, had great prizes, fun games, lots of new caches, great food, blah blah blah, etc. etc. So what's THAT got to do with THIS event? Well..... unfortunately probably nothing. But that's the point! This cache will probably be lame in comparison. Why would I say something like that? Let's cut to the point: if I go ahead and make the comparison NOW, you won't have to do it after this event = get it? I'm agreeing with you in advance! That way no one can grumble about this event being lame - I'M TELLING YOU NOW it will be! (With such a lousy buildup as this - everyone will say "it wasn't THAT bad of an event" - see? I'm no dummy!)

OK, enough of THAT. Let's get down to business on what this event will offer:

1. I have reserved the group camping area at Ocean Pond for a cost of $50 per night = $100. We will take donations to offset the cost. We will have our own camping area complete with bathrooms and SHOWERS! (at least I upped the other event in one regard)

2. Hot dogs burnt in the fire! mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm Bring your own hot dogs, buns, condiments, cooking sticks. I'll provide the fire! ( I told you before I was lame at events)

3. Somebody is bound to bring something ELSE to eat! Any suggestions?

4. Two nights of unbelievable fun sleeping on the ground.

5. Night caching in Osceola! (Now THIS is where I shine)

6. Dogs are allowed on a leash. (I could've worded that better but I chose not to.)

7. Most importantly of all - the camaraderie of all you great geocachers!

Please note: This event is intended to complement the Lake City event - NOT replace it! If you can't make it Friday night to camp - mosey on over here AFTER the Lake City event. You're welcome to stop by here on the way and bring me some coffee Saturday morning. That would earn you a free non obtuse hint from me.

One more thing: the above coordinates are approximate at this time. They will get you in the general area. I'll tighten them up as soon as I know exactly where our camp site is.

UPDATES

  • Coordinates listed above are for the gate to our area. Everything behind the gate is OURS!

  • Yes, these coordinates are on the South side of Ocean Pond. We are in a totally separate area. WOO HOO!

  • Combination to the gate lock is 0086

  • TPTB requests we keep the gate closed as much as possible to keep out the riffraff.

  • I hid 2 new caches on the area - one is night only, the other is night friendly.

  • More info as it flows out of my brain.
