This cache has been archived.

Max Cacher: Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or let it remain archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Cache owner has not been on site since July 4, 2003

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival, and I will unarchive your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Tennessee Geocacher

Geocache Description:

Located in beautiful Shelby Forest State Park, this cache is like cash! Locating this cache has a handsome payoff for your wallet and your spirit.

I'm not sure how the MapBlast map is gonna help you so we're gonna give you some directions...
It will be worth it.

Here we go...

From Thomas (51 HWY) and North Watkins

head NNW until Watkins dead ends.

Take a left and you can't miss the first mark
N35 19.943 W90 01.639

Stop at the corner store (the previous mark) for a quick snack (we recommend a Penrose sausage and a dill pickle washed down with a Dr. Pepper and yellow cupcakes for dessert) and a friendly visit.

Then head North on Bluff Road. You'll pass Lyles lovely lake, but don't pay $5 to fish...instead look for the entrance to Meeman Shelby Forest on the left. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the lake (NOT PEIRSOL LAKE) but POPLAR TREE.

Park by the playground and take the path around the levee. There... that's all the help you get, hope you enjoyed the drive and take advantage of the FREE fishing and the natural beauty of this location (sorry Lyle).

You will find the cache about 25 feet off the paved trail.
