A short hike through jarrah and banksia woodland near Grimwade.

There's a picnic site marked on the map at Grimwade, but the place looked a bit neglected when we got there. (Maybe we didn't actually quite get there?) What we did find was a track which crossed the road at S33° 42.454 / E116° 01.182. The cache is hidden a short walk from there. Take the obvious track...

While dogs aren't specifically forbidden in this area as far as I can tell, the area is subject to 1080 poison baiting, and if your dog eats a bait then its chances are not good.

The cache is a small ammo can which has been painted yellow. Original contents: 4 small plastic boxes, a bouncy ball, a set of allen keys, a pair of wire-cutters, a g-clamp, 2 screwdrivers, a keyring, a small padlock, a roller-stamp, a memo-pad and a log book, pen, pencil rubber and sharpener

Nice find with lots of goodies. Love those ammo boxes. Not so sure about the obvious path being obvious anymore with all the growth around. Swapped goodies.

the walk in was relatively uneventful and we found the cache quickly. coming back out we decided to be clever but zigged when we should have zagged and managed to miss the track. ended up circling back and found another "road" that eventually lead us back out to the grimwade road about 500m from the car. oh well.
