January 30 by _Shaddow_ (1081 found) Out for a snowshoe with some MMMers and headed up this way to see what we might find. Our group included three previous finders but didn't even attempt as all the landmarks are under deep snow. Very low snow pack at the winter trailhead but doing just fine up here! Had a great day and will be back when the snow melts to bag the cache.

January 17 by Grizwests (1526 found) After talking with some good friends at the COWWS Poker Cache Event yesterday, I feel it is now time to log this cache, and remove the curse it placed on me.On July 19, 2009 my caching friend Douglas Clan, I and our two boys decided to go after this cache. The day was warm, the trail was hot and dusty, but we were excited to claim one of the last remaining oldies. Made it to the cache without incident, but once at the cache, my son complained of hurting ankles. Looking at his ankles, they were severly blistered, and my son and I decided to head down, while DC and his son continued to the next cache. On the way down my son and I were having a lively discussion about how I had never broken a bone in my body, and since I was turning 40 in September, and had done some pretty crazy things, it was no where near short a miracle. But one can not live without tragedy at times, and a higher presence must have overheard our conversation, because five minutes late, snap, crackle, pop, down goes dad with a broken ankle and dislocated foot. Search and Rescue were called, but I spent seven hours on a mountain with no pain meds. The love of my son and my friend DC and his son, kept me awake and focused, and kept me from going into shock. DC assisted the Search and Rescue crew get me down the mountain as they could not get enough crew members in time. To say that I am thankful to all of them, will never be enough, they are great. As all of you know that have gone for this cache, this trail is narrow, so getting me down and the rescue team down, was no small feat! Getting to the ambulance and getting that first pain shot, I do not think Nirvana could be much better. Two surgeries later, casts, walking boots, crutches and knee carts, it appears that in two weeks I will be able to start walking again, and pursuing the hobby I love so much. I want to thank all of my caching friends, including Joey and Corey, Douglas Clan, Ntclpr, Black Sheep, CombatNurse, Mark and Debbie, and the plethora of others that have sent me well wishes and told me to take it easy. Words will never be enough to thank all of you.

October 6, 2009 by Boonie-Medic (414 found) #75 to log in on the oldest active cache in washington. I took a non-traditional route for fun and got to rock scramble a little. The cache was easy and the trip was memorable. T-Cachehunters,L-Legend of Bigfoot TFTH

September 26, 2009 by mcphersoncache (262 found) I have been wanting to find this cache for some time, and alas I have done just that. Be sure to pack some water with you and a good pair of shoes. A collection vessel for huckleberries might not be a bad idea as some homemade wine might be in order as you celebrate this accomplishment! TFTH.

September 26, 2009 by Traveling M&M's (303 found) It was sunny with a cool breeze and no bugs! McPhersoncache and I started for GCD from "Mt. Margaret Trail Head" (GC1GMZN) via "View Cache" (GCJM69) via "Wonkatania" (GCPK3G). From Wonkatania we decided to try to keep as much elevation as possible as we crossed the ridge (because I don't like descending just to go up again). This almost got us in trouble... I guess you could say we took the road less traveled. See that big outcropping of rock? Yeah, we climbed it... ...Not recommended but what an adventure. Once we got to the top we ate our PB&J's (actually I had PB&Honey) and took some pictures next to the dead snag standing up there like a silent sentinel with a great view back down the valley. We could see Rock Rabbit Lakes down the other side as well. We knew there was a cache down there but remember what I said about descending just to go up again? We followed the ridge trail up to the cache getting excited all the more. This one has been haunting us for a while saying, "Come and get me! Come and get me!" Reached GZ and after a quick search we were able to sign the log and drop two coins that wanted to see some interesting caches. In all a successful and fun day. Headed down and found "I've fallen and I can't get up" (GC1W7KE) to close out this side of the hill. TFTC!
