If you've read and book or seen the movie then you probably know about the photo on the cover of the book, the famous sculpture of the "Bird Girl". If you're from the South, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you're from Savannah, I'm sure you'd wish I'd shutup.
The sculpture was located in the cemetary, but, has been removed for fear of theft or vandalism. It's on display at the Telfair Museum.
It's a very interesting cemetary, nonetheless. Once you have arrived at the gate of Bonaventure Cemetery, you will immediately see the Cemetery office. Avoid the road to the far left—that road takes you to the newer Greenwich Cemetery. Notice the large map posted by the office: it shows where many gravesites of historical interest are located. The map will show you which road to take to get to the graves of Johnny Mercer (Section H), Conrad Aiken and his parents (Section H), and Gracie (Section E). Also, look for the large directional signpost that has several arrows pointing in the direction of the different sections. From this point, just watch for the smaller directional signposts that point you to specific graves

On the inside bottom of this cache is a label with a word on it: email the word to me (see email link at top of this page) to validate your posting. There is a small log too, but bring your own pen/pencil.
