West Highland Way Day 6 …Rannoch Moor
This part of the way follows a “one day” old drovers road,.. and
whilst it has excellent track , it runs at the highest level so far
, and is without shelter for most of the section .

Background
At the summit of the highest part is a small cairn, a memorial
to Peter Fleming, who died of a heart attack whilst shooting over
Blackmount forest in 1971. Fleming was a most remarkable man whose
career was full of incidents no less colourful and dramatic than
those inflicted on James Bond by his novelist brother Ian.
