The cache is in small Lock n Lock, not much larger than a pack
of cigarettes, so don't bring anything large to leave. It's also
close to the trail and some houses, so make certain you aren't
being watched.
To place the cache I parked on Main St and walked in the main
entrance, past the gazebo. It's a pretty walk and the view makes
one wish that you saw this place 200 years ago. A more direct route
would be to take the staircase down from Main St (see clue), past
the playground and across the foot bridge. There is an interesting
and very large rock feature in the area, known as Washington Rock.
At one time it was tourist attraction and is depicted on antique
post cards, as can seen in this collection of
old Boonton postcards. Be sure to check out the remains of
Boonton's early, industrial past. The buildings were lost long ago,
but some ruins are still visible. The falls are quite scenic, so
bring your camera.
