This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no response to the previous note, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Sour Land Mountain Reserve is off East Mountain Road (off Amwell 514 Rd) in Hillsborough, NJ. Some steep elevation changes on trail.

First thing you should do when you get to Sour Land is get a map. There are a lot of trails and it is easy to get turned around. The cache is hidden in a green ammo can. The cache is hidden in a very quiet area where you could eat your lunch but after you eat go see the amazing view at marker 5; on a clear day you can see Manhattan. There have been some persistent animals curious about the cache so please, no puppy treats or other food! Please hide it well; cover it with heavy rocks, sticks and other leaves. The contents of the last container were ruined because someone did not put the cache back; all the contents got rained on and could not dry out inside the rubbermaid container. It wasn't an animal that opened the cache - it was probably someone that stumbled across the cache because it wasn't hidden well. The cache should not be able to be found without the coordinates (or the hints). The fun (especially for kids) contents should make the additional difficulty (now that it is hidden better) in finding this cache worth it!! Have fun and happy hunting! The hints/spoiler info below are pretty specific. Don't print them unless you really think you'll need to. Additional notes as of November 1, 2004: The cache is now an ammo can with lots of fun stuff. As long as it is hidden well, this should be a fun and dry cache for quite some time!! Additional notes as of 10-26-04: I understand from recent visitors that the furry critters have, yet again, eaten my double rubbermaid container making the contents soggy and "gross." I have the metal and so hopefully, impervious, ammo can replacement at home and will get up to exchange the contents and the box soon. You may want to wait to visit this cache for a couple of weeks. Thank you for your continued interest in this cache. I apologize for the current, temporary bad condition. Additional note as of 11-6-02: I, once again, replaced the tupperware container that keeps getting chewed up. This time I put a smaller tupperware inside a bigger one. That should do it. Again, please make sure you hide it well before you head back out. Thanks!
