Geocache Description:

Located near a National Historic Landmark

Find this cache to solve an interesting history mystery. Suggested parking at: N41 08.457, W 074.18.547. Take your time and enjoy the rich history of this area. Cache is a 6 inch Glad container containing the typical trinkets.

Note that this area is posted with warnings and is patrolled by NJ State Park Rangers. This is done to discourage teen vandalism. Several years ago teen vandals burned two priceless artifacts dating back to the mid 1800s. One has since been rebuilt. The area is open to the public and visitors are welcome. The trails here are maintained by the NY/NJ Trail Conference.

****WARNING****

Cache location not for the faint of heart. Terrain is steep and precipitous. Approach not recommended during wet or snowy weather. Remember, the Magster has four-paw drive. Although GPS reading is based on 100 sample average expect overhanging trees and steep terrain to skew readings.
