Geocache Description:

Florence Martin donated this 1000 acre parks to the City in two parcels 1920 and 1937. Most of the park is a Bison preserve and natural area where visitors can view the animals in a high-plains habitat.

I would recommend this cache on a nice day with clear visibility. The views from Daniels Park of the Front Range are pretty spectacular. There’s also a buffalo range just next door. Just north of the park are some great views of Denver and the Front Range where new and expensive houses are being built. The park is a nice spot to picnic.

This cache should be a pretty quick one to find and easily within 200 meters of parking. The cache is a standard ammo box hidden in a very steep and dense bush area. You should be able to get very very close using walking trails that are already there.

The hard part won’t be finding the cache but finding Daniels Park as the roads from the North seem to change every month of so with new developments.

While I have never seen one, I have heard that Daniels Park is or at least was notorious for buzz-worms (rattle snakes). Be cautious about placing a hand on a rock shelf without first checking it visually.
