How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is a logbook only multi-cache. It is in a small camo painted plastic container. Inside you will find only a logbook. There is room to place a small Travel Bug if you wish.
On each Wednesday for a period of one year, a single lotto 649 QuickPic will be purchased by myself and any winnings will be shared by cachers who successfully find and log this Geocache.

The Fine Print
· Each Week’s ticket will be shared by Geocache account holders who have found the cache, signed the logbook, logged it on the cache web page, and emailed to me by 6 PM (Eastern Time) of the first Wednesday following. Click Here to Email Me
· One share only per find-log regardless of number of members in your team and each find must be recorded in the cache-site log book AND the website log.
· Pages in the logbook are numbered. One log per page. This page number is to be included in the email to myself along with your email address and user name so that I can send you the weekly 649 number and that weeks share size. There are cards in the cache for you to write the page number on and take with you.
· By the way the owner of this cache, Moi, will have a single share each week.(ah com’on its only fair)
· Any winnings if we are that lucky will be paid out at the end of the year unless there is a major win in which case eligible shareholders will meet downtown at the Lotto office (coordinates to be advised) very soon after the winning draw.

To put some perspective on all of the above, a finder during the first week will have a share in all 52 draws. Share size each week will depend on how many cachers have logged a find. If there is only one find during the first week then he/she will get a 50% share (I’m the other 50%) of the next Wednesday draw. If by week 35 for example there have been 9 finds then each will get a 10% share that week and so on. I will maintain a tally sheet and email it weekly to each shareholder.

As of July 17/02 Red Bucket, a member of the Billy Bob caching team graciously donated the funds to include an Encore play with each weeks 649 quickpic. Same rules will apply except Red and Ryan 11 will get a share in any Encore winnings.

Enough on the reward end of things. Lets get to the real reason we are geocachers. The thrill of the hunt and the joy of the find.

The cache container is located just off the Bruce Trail. You will be required to hike 1.5 km one way. You will be required to find a microcache first in order to get the cache coordinates.

Stop 1 – See coordinates above. (park along the road on shoulder) Here you will find a tall man-made wooden vertical. There is a 4 digit number stamped on the North-East side at eye level. Divide this number by 1000 and add the result to BOTH latitude minutes 41.882 and longitude minutes 55.051 The resulting coordinates will look like: N43º xx.xxx W79º xx.xxx These coords will take you to the microcache.

Stop 2 – A micro-cache container is here. Open it to read coordinates to the final cache.

Stop 3 – The Cache is approx. 10 metres off the trail. There is no Bushwacking necessary. Please stay on the trail all the way to cache. PLEASE RESPECT THE FLORA AND FAUNA.
