Geocache Description:

A 2 stage multi-cache in one of the nicest parks in the Inner West.

Sydney ParkThe cache is located in an area that used to be a brickworks. In fact, in the 19th century there used to be quite a number of brickworks in this area, due to the abundant clay and fresh water. Many of the smaller brickworks died out a long time ago, while some continued to operate until only a few years ago.

At this park the prominant chimney stacks from one of the local brickworks have been preserved. The park has been steadily enlarged and improved over the years, including a wetland area being developed on the northern edge.

There are some exposed hills in the park that are great for kite flying, and dogs are welcome (although keep them out of the ponds).

The cache is easy to get to by public transport. Catch a train to St Peters station (or take a short walk from either Newtown or Erskineville stations), or catch the 422 bus.

At WP1 (the co-ordinates above) you need to find a sign that starts with "S/N" followed by a 10 digit number. Add the first four digits of the number to both the northing and easting of the following co-ordinates (ignoring the decimal point):

S 33 53.134

E 151 09.713

This gives you the co-ordinates for ground zero.

Cache is in a 1L plastic container.
