Geocache Description:

Orris Falls is off the Thurrell Road in the back country of South Berwick.

I was given permission to place this cache by the Great Works Regional Land Trust on an experimental basis. So please be careful to carry out all trash and be concious of not doing harm to the landscape which would cause erosion.

The brook is narrow and the falls aren't spectacular however in the spring and early summer there's a good volume of water flowing down thru a 40' to 50' gorge. In my opinion the area is awesome.

There's a small parking space on Thurrell Road large enough for three vehicles. The Coords for parking are: N 43 16.791 W 070 43.218.
I have included a photo of the parking area. You can walk by trail to within 40 ft. of the cache which is located downstream from the falls. You may be tempted to bushwack when your GPSR says your 400 to 500 ft from the cache but management would prefer you to stay on the trail.

As you progress up the trail you will have a small brook to cross over. From that point you will take a right turn on a very rough trail, ( easily missed) with some bushwacking. From the parking lot it is a half hour to forty minutes walk. Geeeze I'm not too good at giving directions. I hope this info is clear enough.

This can be a slippery and dangerous area so proceed with caution. Also I believe the area is open to hunting so you might want to wear orange in the months of October and November.
