I broke a rule by placing a cache here … it is not in my home neighbourhood.
I will be back here the winter 2004/05 and replace it.

During the time … have a nice stay on Phi-phi Island.

Geocache Description:


Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi, 48 kms southeast of Phuket, is maybe one of the most famous island in the world. You can have a day return trip or a ferry booked from your hotel or travel agency. A minibus pick you up and drive you to Phuket Town´s Port. The ferry took 90 minutes.

You reach the harbour that is situated in the south bay (Ton Sai) of the island. The beach is better on the other side in the north bay (Loh Dalam).

If you stay over night you can find bungalows in all prices. Bungalows or room in the centre of the island are cheaper but some can be very noisy if located close to late bars.

A good thing to do if you stay is to have a day trip around in a longtail boat. You visit the south island, Phi Phi Lae, with the famous Maya Beach, the location of “The Beach” film and you have stops on Bamboo Island in the north. Transports in longtail boat, lunch, soft drink and snorkelling equipment are included in the price.

The Cache
From the start the cache contains:
  • Coins. Swedish 1 kr
  • Pin, Swedish Parachute Association
  • Key ring, Dala horse
And the usual things:
  • Stash note
  • Log
  • but NO pen

The cache is placed at the viewpoint over centre part of the Phi Phi Don island. From here you can see central beaches.

To help you to find your way I give you two extra spots. The first is were the road starts that take you to the footpath that takes you to the viewpoint. The second is where the footpath starts. The path is of cast concrete the hole way.

You can half away buy some cool soft drinks. When you reach the top, you have a marvellous view over the island.

After you find the cache you can have a cold soft drink or a beer at little bar behind the viewpoint.
Back down again you can log your visit in one of the many places with internet access.
