After finding my first cache in Caledon ("John Short 1754 Benchmark"), I figured Caledon was plenty big to host additional caches. This is my first hidden cache and I hid it well down the trail, requiring seekers to see even more of this little-known park.
Please make sure you allow enough time to get to the cache and back to your car before sunset when the park closes and the gate is locked. If you take the most direct route (left turns at each trail junction so that you stay on the outer loop), you'll need to travel about 2 miles to reach the cache. For the average hiker, this should take about an hour. Incidentally, this route also takes you by 2 other Caledon caches along the way. If you have the time and stamina, I suggest you take the slightly longer way out. If you stay on the outer loop by taking a left turn at each trail junction, it will be another 2.2 miles from the cache back to your car. It's good exercise and great scenery.
Because you're likely to frequently lose satellite signal deep in Caledon's dense woods, I increase the difficulty rating during the spring/summer caching season.
