The preserve harbors an unusual mounded prairie, a spectacular array of early spring wildflowers and a diversity of habitats for birds and wildlife.
Please remain on the trail as much as possible. For some privacy our cache is located about 60 feet from the trail. The views from the eastern side are magnificent, but the cliffs are dangerous. Be careful with the plant life, (there are over 300 species), which are very delicate and protected. Uneven terrain, steep cliffs, rattlesnakes, scorpions, ticks, poison oak are found throughout the preserve! We suggest that this area is not for small children.
No dogs, horses or bikes allowed in the preserve.
This is a birdwatchers paradise! You can see chickadees, juncos, kinglets, woodpeckers, Western meadowlarks, horned larks, swallows and raptors including golden eagles, great horned owls and red-tail hawks.
WARNING: SOME TRAILS END IN SHARP CLIFFS, RATTLESNAKES, WIND GUSTS. THIS IS NOT A SAFE NIGHT TIME CACHE OR CHILDREN'S CACHE.
Aside from all the warnings… Have a nice walk.
