Geocache Description:

a ruined sighting tower of 1550 overlooking Tyrrhenian Sea, in Castiglione della Pescaia, close to Grosseto, Tuscany

This ancient tower was part of an extended net of sighting towers on the Tyrrhene, built for control of ships traffic and pirate raids, since 1500.
It is located on the hill up from the cemetery of Castiglione della Pescaia, in the Maremma coast, close to Grosseto.
ATTENTION: there is not trail and and there are many thorns
Questa antica torre di avvistamento fa parte di una vasta rete di torri sul mar Tirreno, costruite fin dal 1500 per controllare il traffico navale e le eventuali incursione di pirati.
E' situata sulla collina sopra il cimitero di Castiglione della Pescaia, sulla costa Maremmana, in provincia di Grosseto
ATTENZIONE: non c'e' sentiero e ci sono molti rovi
