Geocache Description:

This is a locationless cache based on elevation. To log this one you have to find the lowest possible point in a country, state, or province. Coordinates listed here are for the Miwaukee Museum of Art, located on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, one of Wisconsin's lowest points -- elevation 581 feet.

Requirements:

1.Determine the lowest point of elevation of a country, of one of the 50 states of the United States, or of one of the 13 provinces or territories of Canada. There are several sources you can use including: topographic maps, www.50states.com, graphicmaps.com, and www.americasroof.com.

2. For countries, states, and provinces located on an ocean or a large lake, there may not be a single lowest point. For these situations choose the location of a notable landmark somewhere on the shoreline – a bridge, harbor, dam, building, or a natural feature such as the mouth of a river. The landmark you choose must be identifiable to people who live in or visit that area.

3. Visit that spot with your GPSR and a camera. Record the coordinates and take photo of yourself at the location with your GPSR. If your GPSR is so equipped, also record the elevation at the location.

4. Once you have reached the low point, to score this cache you must report:

a. the name of the country and/or state or province

b. the latitude and longitude of the low point

c. the low point's elevation (as listed in your research and as indicated on your GPSR if so equipped)

d. a description of your trip there and what you found upon arriving

e. photos of the landmark at your low point, including a photo of you with your GPSR at the low point. If you don’t have a digital camera, upload a photo within 2 weeks of your posting.

Note: One logged find per geocacher. You do not have to be the first one to log a low point if it is located at one geographic location (for example, the low point for Iowa is at the confluence of the Mississippi and Des Moines rivers). However, if someone has already logged a low point find for a landmark on a shoreline that is many miles long, please choose a different location on that shoreline for your log. For example, if someone logs the Statue of Liberty as the low point for New York, you are free to log the Brooklyn Bridge as another low point for New York. Have fun! We look forward to reading about your travels and seeing your photos.
