This cache is located in the Tom Mays unit of the Franklin Mountains State Park in El Paso, Texas. The Tom Mays Unit is one of four sections of the northern half of the 24,000 acre park.
Starting from the northern most parking site in the Tom Mays Unit, the hike snakes around for approximately 2 miles and should take a little over one hour to complete each way. Take the trail that goes north to the Vinton Canyon Unit and don't be fooled by the BMBA trail that circles back to the Ranger Station. Maps at the Ranger Booth will help you get oriented.
Once you see a sign pointing to the "State Line", then your're getting closer! You'll find it in a canyon not too far from this point. The cache is an ammo box clearly maked as a Geocache find and has some goodies awaiting the intrepid explorer. It is just off the trail to keep it out of any runoff should it actually rain!
The hardest part of the outing will be the return trip. The final hill back to the parking lot is a real hike! Take plenty of water, be careful and have fun.
