Geocache Description:

Alabama Geocachers Association (AGA) April 2005 Meeting and CITO event

The place is Ditto Landing on the river in south Huntsville, Alabama. We will gather about 8 AM and CITO until about noon.

Here is some info:

1) All volunteers for CITO get a free pair of quite nice cloth gloves, of course made from recycled materials.

2) I have 25 of the sticks for grabbing trash.

3) I have 150 free trash bags for our use.

4) This is not only a CITO, but a part of the Great American Clean Up. As participants, the AGA enters a contest to win prizes.

5) I have over 40 bottles of water I bought at my own expense. They will be offered free, but I would not argue if someone donated a quarter for their bottle.

AGA MEETING AFTER THE CITO -- Hoted by The Alabama Rambler

The topic is "Geocaching Software and Paperless Geocaching" A laptop and cell phone, both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, will be used to demonstrate how one may connect to geocaching.com wirelessly, get a Pocket Query, open it with Geocaching Survival Army Knife (GSAK), manipulate the data as desired, export it to the GPS, Palm, HTML on the Laptop and as waypoints on a mapping program.

That sounds like a lot, but it's really a 30-minute presentation on a topic with high interest.

After the meeting all interested geocachers may join us for a cache run around Huntsville.

For those who use FRS radios, let's coordinate on channel 2 for the event.

Finally, the caches!!! I will do my best to place a cache for the event and will have coordinates when you sign in.

From GC.com home page-- "April 16 is Cache In Trash Out Day.
Every April, geocachers around the world get together and clean up their local parks. It's just one way we can contribute to the maintenance of our outdoor spaces and to say "thanks" to the land managers that help to make our parks a great place for geocaching."
