Geocache Description:

Neenah Park & Recreation's Geocaching Workshop located in the pavillion at Neenah's Memorial Park from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Neenah Summer 2005 activitys guide in PDF format.

This class introduces participants to the basics of geocaching and gets them started in the sport.

“Do you have a GPS unit that is underutilized? Put it to use by Geocaching. Geocaching (“caching” sounds like “cashing” a check) is a hide and seek sport for adults (and kids). It combines the high-tech of GPS and the Internet with good old-fashioned fun and creativity. Participants across the globe have hidden caches for other geocachers to find using a GPS unit and their own ingenuity. You will enjoy the thrill of the hunt, but the real discovery is the countless locations of natural beauty and historical interest you will find that you never knew existed.

The program will include searching for temporary caches hidden on site. Families are encouraged to participate. Please dress for the weather. Workshop will include both indoor and outdoor portions. If you have a GPS unit, please bring it (not required). Several GPS units will be available for use at this workshop.

Again, This class introduces participants to the basics of geocaching and gets them started in the sport and will be geared for the beginer.

Date: Saturday, May 7

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 noon

Location: Memorial Park Shelter

Cost: $2.00 for materials (It is recommended (but not required) that participants bring their own GPS units and FRS radios.)

I would like to thank Tom and Gary for helping with the presentaion, and to Marc_54140, Astro Kat, Tami of the Ecorangers, and Daniel of Caulumet Dreams for their help on the trails!

Also, feel free to log the event as attended if you were there, and you may also log each temp cache found as another attended event log with the name of the cache in the log.
