Rule Change and Reminders
As of 9/1/05, I will accept duplicate logs if you just can't
find one any other way.
BUT, they must be NEW pictures, not those
of a deleted duplicate log.
All other rules remain in effect.
Please insure your coordinates are ON THE
BRIDGE!
Date your log the current date, not the date you found it.
Target # 1: Locate a swinging bridge and take a picture
of it showing the rotating or swinging section.

For purposed of this cache, a swinging bridge is defined as: A
bridge which rotates its span(s) on a pedestal, allowing vessels to
move past on either side. In cases where the pedestal cannot be
located in the waterway, the bridge can be cantilevered out from
one side of the channel.
Swing bridges are slower to operate than other types of movable
bridges and many have been replaced with bascule (drawbridges) or
vertical lift bridges.
Target # 2: Locate a drawbridge bridge and take a photo
with GPSr to show it open if possible. If not, then clearly show
the hinging area.

Webster defines drawbridges as: A bridge made to be raised up, let
down, or drawn aside so as to permit or hinder passage. That will
work here. Most any moveable or hinged bridge can be logged here,
EXCEPT vertical lift bridges, which should be logged atGCB8FF, Vertical Lift
Bridges of the World, or Suspension Bridges, which
should be logged at GC66CC, Suspension Bridges
of the World, which move, but not by hinge in the
manner of a swinging or drawbridge.
Please get out of your car to give us a good
shot of the bridge, find a plaque with some history, or
provide other information about the bridge, such as a web link.
Photos must have enough detail to validate the type of bridge.
Photos from a roadway while sitting behind an open bridge are
insufficient to log this cache. Greater detail is necessary.
PLEASE ADJUST YOUR COORDINATES TO BE ON THE
BRIDGE Rope, suspension or vertical lift bridges are
ineligible - bridges must fit the definition above. Other
locationless caches are available to log those types of bridges.
Logs with photos taken only from a vehicle will
be deleted. Other standard locationless cache rules apply
including no backdated logs and photos posted at
time of log:
Duplicate logs per bridge allowed beginning
9/1/05 with NEW photos, one log FOR EACH TARGET per
cacher/team. No double logs with other caches. GPSr in one of the
photos. Easy, eh!
