Geocache Description:

Located in City Park ( Emma Long Park for you non-natives). Parking is at N30* 20.009, W097* 50.397.

Here is the deal. I made my first cache trade on Feb 15th, 2002. Since then I've collected a whole drawer full of booty. Here is a list of what I've collected and where I got it. I don't know what everyone else does with this stuff. I would suspect that most folks simply trade off the stuff they got from their last cache at the next one that they visit. Oh sure, I sometimes leave an item that I just picked up in the next cache when I've done a few in a row and I'm running low on fresh geedunk. But for the most part, I bring it all home and throw it in a drawer. I don't know what it is about me that makes me think I need to hang onto this stuff. Probably some deep-seated psychological disorder. Instead of going out geocaching all the time maybe I should be seeing a shrink. Anyhow, in a bid to perform some self-help, I've decided to just tump all this stuff into an ammo can and leave it in the woods somewhere. You are cordially invited to hunt down the afore-mentioned ammo can and leave something that you have found in another cache and in your log let me know what you left and where you got it.

You can walk along the Turkey Creek Trail or there is a double-track further up the road (The one with the chain across it). Either way, you need to park in the Parking Area. Either way, some bushwacking required. The double-track is a little shorter but not as scenic. I did run across another trail closer to the cache but from whence it came or where it goes I don't have a clue.

Emma Long Park is a large city owned park with miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, even an area specifically for motorcycle offroading. Access is FREE except for the southernmost area, which is for camping, special day use, boat access and swimming. All of the geocaches in Emma Long are accessible without using the pay area. Watch for parking areas and trailheads along City Park Road after you pass the big yellow gates.
