It has been one year since our first meeting. We did not intend to start a group, but I am happy that we did. It has been fun to meet the Geocachers of Georgia!
I placed this cache so we would have a cache to find during the meeting nearby. I also received permission to leave the cache here from the groundskeepers so those who miss the meeting can find it later. Heavy tree cover near the cache makes this one a little tough. There is NO poison ivy next to the cache, so if you see some you are looking in the wrong place.
This is an easy cache and is a good beginner's cache. I recommend approaching this cache from the low side. Make sure you cover the cache so it is not taken. Dog walkers frequent this area, so you may need to watch for them and what they leave behind!
This cache will also show you that maps on the site are not always exactly correct. If you do not look at the maps before the hunt, make sure you look at the Mapquest map and the TopoZone map when you log the cache. You will get a good laugh and some thoughts for future cache adventures.
No hints... Thanks to all for a great year of Geocaching in Georgia.
