mariner's memorial park is maintained by the evergreen garden
club. it is on long cove and there is a boat launch area for small,
hand-carried recreational boats. the park is for low-impact,
non-intensive recreational uses. it's a great place to just chill
or have a picnic. it is open from dawn to dusk only.
i haven't been to the park in years and i found that it has
changed dramatically. for a lot of years, it was a hang-out for
vandals, but now it is really beautiful and very well-kept. i'm
just sorry that i have been missing such an accessable, wonderful
park!
directions:
go past deer isle village and turn left at mill pond irving. go
right at the first street sign, morey farm road, where the
evergreen garden club's mariner's memorial park sign is. take a
left into the park at the mariner's park sign.
