Geocache Description:

  • We use a Garmin, 12 channel, Etrex, GPS
Pleasant hike over the dunes, or rough trek from South Jetty. The elevation is between 0-60 feet. Wear pants and shoes. NOTE: Recent geocachers have reported that some idiot shot up the cache. If your headed to it, please replace the container.

A magallan GPS got: N 43 55.434' W 124 8.205' elev = 30'
There are two ways to get there:
  1. Easy way: just start at Jessie M. Honeyman park and hike over the dunes and along trails through the deflation plain. This way rates about 2 with regard to terrain difficulty.
  2. For masochists, hike about 2 miles south from south jetty, then crash through the Thickets from Hell, eventually breaking through to the dune buggy trail network. Our path included about .5 miles and an hour of bush-wacking. This rates about a 5 for terrain difficulty.
