Lyra: In response to an e-mail this morning from MissAngele, I went and checked on the cache this morning and discovered that it is missing. I noticed for the first time that the cache hiding place is in pretty plain view of a house at the top of the hill and my guess is that the resident got suspicious at periodically peeking out of the window and seeing a weird bunch of people poking around in the woods. I can't imagine that anyone would simply stumble upon it accidentally.

Since it was clear when I checked the cache hiding place that MissAngele had been there, I'm going to allow her to log it as a find. After all, she did find the hiding place, just not the cache.

Geocache Description:

Cache is located in the J. Frank Wilson Memorial Park in the City of Martinsville, Virginia

Best to park on East Church Street Extension roughly at N36°41.209 / W079°51.611, which are coordinates for entrance to the park, as there is no public parking lot for the park. However, parking on the street is legal. There is a church parking lot nearer to the cache, but parking for the general public may meet with some consternation from the church officials, so parking there is discouraged. Park is open from dawn to dusk, so allow time before darkness sets in (though it may be before dusk, tree canopy causes the portion of the park around the cache to be fairly dark early).

Original contents of cache are M.C. Escher sliding puzzle, "Bee Bee" puzzle, Koosh ball, carabiner key chain, wrist key chain, deck of playing cards, gyroscope, wheresgeorge dollar, and a few other odds and ends. Log with pencil and pencil sharpener are included.
