The City of Ames spent a little time rebuilding the road into this park, so we spent a little time rebuilding our cache! Hint- this means you will have to spend some time on this one. BTW, if you found this one in the past, come back and try the new and improved Hearty Meal Cache!
Like any good meal, this three-stage cache has different parts- a menu, an appetizer and a main course. The coordinates above are for the menu. You will need to do a little calculating to get the coordinates for the appetizer.
The menu is virtual. You will need to read the object, and obtain the date on it. Write the date numerically- ie: June 1, 1999 = 611999. Ready?
The coordinates to the Appetizer are:
N 42°0A.BCD W 093°3E.FGH
A = The first number
B = The fifth number - second number
C = The third number - first number
D = The first number - fourth number
E = The third number * fourth number + sixth number
F = The fourth number + sixth number
G = The seventh number - fifth number + sixth number - first number
H = The third number
The appetizer is a small sandwich-sized container (Gladware) with a green transparent lid, inside a freezer bag. The appetizer contains a couple of goodies, logbook, and coordinates to the main course and its trail head. Please sign the logbook. Make sure you read the first entry! ALSO, please be careful, this can be a busy park, and in the Fall and Winter months, this area is not as secluded as one would like. The trails to the Main Course can be very tricky if wet.
Please enjoy this park. As we walked back from placing the Appetizer, we saw a Blue Heron hunting in Clear Creek. Joggers and hiker alike use the trails on both sides of the creek.
