Geocache Description:

Your mission if you choose to accept it: Photogragh and document the location of a Blackbird spy plane on public display in a musuem. This includes the A-12, YF-12, and SR-71x aircraft.

Developed for the USAF as reconnaissance aircraft more than 30 years ago, SR-71s were the world's fastest and highest-flying production aircraft. The aircraft could fly more than 2200 mph (Mach 3+ or more than three times the speed of sound) and at altitudes of over 85,000 feet.

The Blackbirds were retired in 1990. However, the USAF still kept a few SR-71s in operation up until 1998.

There are a very limited number of these planes in existence as you can see from this list.

Only one cache per plane and one plane per person. GPS coordinates and a picture of you, your GPSr and the plane is required to claim your cache. We will delete all duplicate posts. Please check the list before posting as 95% of posting are being removed at this point.
