Gander Lake (Little Harbour) Traditional Geocache
5Newfs: This cache was one of our first, and we're happy so many enjoyed it. We checked on the area today and it is very popular, and we're not surprised that the cache has been looted. We're going to put this one to bed, and archive it so that others can utilize the space. Thanks for all who visited!

Little Harbour, on the north shore of Gander Lake, is a beautiful picnic area just a short drive off the Trans Canada Highway.
Most of the journey to this cache is on hard packed gravel roads - you can drive to within 15m, parking at the closest picnic site (N48 56.543 W054 43.557). The hunt for the cache itself will require bushwhacking about 10m through fairly dense undergrowth (hence the '2' rating for terrain).
My 8 channel GPS was showing between 22-30m Estimated Position Error, so I've updated the above coordinates with those posted by the first finder. That should save you from losing more skin than necessary to the underbrush - Thanks Greg!
The cache container is an ammo box of dimensions 12"x8"x2" marked with the word 'GEOCACHE'.
When placed, the cache contained:
- A Tail Spinner Lure
- A Bomber Orange Salmon Fly
- A mini 'Leatherman' style multi-purpose tool
- A Lightstick
- A Fox 40 Whistle
- A Package of those long skinny ballons that clowns like
- An 8 pack of Crayola 'Canada's Favourite Colours' Crayons
- A Package of Silly Putty
- Log Book and Pen
