A good uphill hike to a historic Nike site located at Harry A Barbier Memorial Park in Marin.
There are many trails leading to the site, all of which will eventually get you there (Harry A. Barbier Memorial Park). This may be one of the hottest mountain biking spots in Marin, so bring your bike if you are so inclined. The views alone are worth all the effort. There is lots of cool stuff in the cache so get there and enjoy! The cache is located at the base of a small well-formed Manzanita tree.

Was a little miffed after hiking all the way to the top, to find a city of San Rafael maintenance truck parked there...

You mean it's possible to drive up here??? (not for us mortals apparently).

this was the turnaround point on the 6 mile hike i took this afternoon with the pupster. we came up from the end of locust along the gold hill grade. this is an amazing site, with stellar views in every direction. there were many bicyclists out today and a number of hikers too, including a few guys with a mean growling dog hanging out at the circular lookout spot about 300 ft SE of the cache. luckily the hide is sheltered from their viewpoint. i rescued the cachosphere geocoin which has been here since the last cacher was here six months ago. didn't see neil armstrong though. the cache was somewhat exposed -- i tried to cover it a little better. left a heart. TFTC.
